Tsunami Relief

The death tall now rising to more than 80,000, the world is calling for an unprecedented appeal for relief help. Among the countries (mostly poorest of the poor) hit by Tsunami, Indonesia and Sri Lanka account for more than half of the death toll. According to CNN yesterday, UN called US response to tsunami "stingy". Here's an opportunity to be a good Samaritan and exercise the love of Christ. If you would like to donate to the relief work in these countries, you can do so through either World Vision or Asian Access by simply clicking on the link. Asian Access relief work will mostly focus on Sri Lanka. If you opt to donate to Asian Access, make sure to designate your gift to "Tsunami Relief".

Merry Christmas!

Greetings from LA! We wish you a merry merry Christmas from the bottom of our hearts. After spending the next few days here in LA, we will be heading to a college retreat for First Evangelical Church of Cerritos. It's been a year full of things to be remembered for a long time. We are thankful for our two beautiful daughters God blessed us with. They have brought so much joy and laughters to us. We also cherish all the friends who have been so supportive of us. And we praise our God for His ever healing and sustaining grace for our brother Keith. It's the first Christmas we will spend in a hospital room, but we sense God's loving presence over our lives. Thank you for remembering us in your prayer. We love you all very much.
May your homes be filled with songs of praise in this Christmas season!

We're back!

Long time no post! I have a lot of respect for those who update their blog almost daily [including Abigail]. Had my life been somewhat uneventful, I could use that as an excuse for not posting. But, it has been quite an eventful month for the Kangs, and we are just getting our life back together. We want to thank all those who have been faithfully praying for Keith. God is good! After a month of battle against this devastating disease, Keith lives. He still hasn’t fully woken up from his deep sleep, but is able to follow commands and even laugh at the stories we tell him. We believed in miracle, and certainly witnessed one.
Also after almost two weeks of separation, our family has finally been united again. Whenever the kids whined and cried, I wished for freedom. When my wish was granted, I realized how much I missed having them around, even their crying and whining! I was so glad that the girls hadn’t forgotten who their daddy was. Somehow Isabel smiles at me more than before. I guess she missed daddy too.
Today, we went to Los Gatos to enjoy the beautiful day. It was first time in a month that we got to spend the whole day together. We took some pictures, ate at a local deli shop that charged us almost $10 for half a sandwich and a tiny bowl of soup, which our family had to share. We, then, drove around the city while Abigail and Isabel enjoyed their afternoon nap in our new minivan. In another week or so, we will be on the road again. What an exciting life this is! Believe it or not, our neighbors thought that we were smuggling babies for sometime because we were never home, and when we were, they would hear babies cry. It took a while for them to be convinced that we were not smuggling babies. Even if we were, we would never sell off Abigail and Isabel…not even for the whole world… :-) [more pictures...]
